A Jackson law enforcement officer exchanged gunfire with an auto burglary suspect. The incident occurred Friday as the unnamed officer was doing the job a theft suppression operation in and around Jacksonian Plaza, in accordance to police officials.”Through the assignment, though stationary in an unmarked law enforcement vehicle, a black Dodge Charger pulled up next to his unmarked law enforcement car or truck,” Deputy Chief Deric Hearn reported in a news launch. A male bought out of the car or truck, and commenced pulling on the doorway of the officer’s car, Hearn said.”Upon opening the automobile doorway, the officer declared himself as a JPD officer. At this time, suspect Antrez Davis commenced firing pictures at the JPD officer, placing the officer’s car as he tried to exit the unmarked police auto,” Hearn said. “The officer returned fire, hanging suspect Davis.”Law enforcement arrested Davis and James Thompson, yet another suspect. The two adult men are billed with aggravated assault on a regulation enforcement officer, attempted automobile theft and capturing into an occupied car or truck.Hearn said the Jackson Law enforcement Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are investigating the incident.

The incident happened Friday as the unnamed officer was operating a burglary suppression operation in and all over Jacksonian Plaza, in accordance to police officials.

“During the assignment, while stationary in an unmarked police car, a black Dodge Charger pulled up future to his unmarked police car,” Deputy Chief Deric Hearn stated in a news release.

A man received out of the motor vehicle, and began pulling on the doorway of the officer’s vehicle, Hearn said.

“On opening the vehicle doorway, the officer announced himself as a JPD officer. At this time, suspect Antrez Davis commenced firing pictures at the JPD officer, striking the officer’s vehicle as he tried to exit the unmarked police vehicle,” Hearn mentioned. “The officer returned fireplace, placing suspect Davis.”

Law enforcement arrested Davis and James Thompson, a different suspect. The two males are charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, attempted automobile theft and taking pictures into an occupied vehicle.

Hearn claimed the Jackson Police Division and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are investigating the incident.
